I've had something similar; I was amazed as I didn't expect scam from apple. I was suss straight away.
gegit emails always (as far as I know) address you by your name.

Apple knows how to spell too.
People will miss the details, and that is sad. Whoever put this one together did pretty good, so I posted it.
Some are so bad you just know, but this was decent.

Yeh I often get emails from banks when I'm not a member of them at all.

I didn't check the spelling but that's a good sure sign too. :)

I received this email also; I knew right away it was spam. I'm glad to see someone posted about it on here though.

I never recieved that. good thing, cuz I don't got time for spam.

Yep, I got this a couple days ago. recognized it immediately as spam, but like Chelsea, glad you posted it here, Wayne. Rachel, unfortunately no company is immune from some scammer trying to send email in their name. They don't have control over that, except to possibly warn customers that a scam using their name is out there. I've gotten scam emails and even phone calls from scammers claiming to be Verizon wireless, emails claiming to be from my bank, and a whole host of other crap. Rule of thumb is, never click on the link provided in an email, even if you think it's a legitimate one. Always type whatever web address into your browser.

It's always sad when these scams take advantage of people. Sites like this one,
most people are very literate about the Internet, so it's hard for some people to
remember just how little many people know. There are perfectly smart people
who aren't educated about this stuff who will call the phone numbers that come
up in the pop-up, or will click that link in the email. That's the part that always
bothers me so much, I'm aware of, and sympathy to, the majority of people
who don't have the technical experience to understand these things for what
they are.
